The Kelowna SCRABBLE® Club has not yet officially begun. In September 2009 Project Literacy Kelowna invited NASPA Tournament Player Jesse Matthews to participate in a "Beat the Scrabble Champ" booth at their annual International Literacy Day Celebration. Out of it came much interest in starting a Scrabble club in Kelowna, which Jesse is organizing in partnership with Project Literacy Kelowna and the downtown location of the Okanagan Regional Library.

Currently the Kelowna SCRABBLE® Club is set to start meeting on Thursday January 7th @ 6:30 PM in the conference room at the Okanagan Regional Library's downtown Kelowna location, and thereafter will meet every Thursday @ 6:30 PM at the north end of the library. We use the North American SCRABBLE Players Association OWL (Official Tournament and Club Word List) as our dictionary, and each game lasts approximately 1 hour.
